This is one of many variants of the Balda Juwella. Unlike a similar camera I posted previously, this one focuses with the aid of a plate under the lens with stops and a focusing scale.

This example of the Balda Juwella has a neat dealer tag indicating it was sold by “Dr. Rüster” in Breslau, Germany. The tag is written in Sütterlin, the old German script that was taught in schools until 1941. After 1945, Breslau became the Polish city of Wrocław.

The camera has a simple Balda shutter and Juwella-Anastigmat lens and takes sharp, wonderful photos.
