The Balda Jubilette was made from 1938 to 1940. It’s nearly identical to the Baldina, which had been released in 1935. It’s a folding 35 mm camera, very compact. These were available with various lenses. This one has a 1:2.9, 50 mm Baltar.

The reverse has a handy depth of field chart. This is a scale focus camera, no rangefinder.

This Balda Jubilette camera is complete with its original “Jubilette” marked leather case. The American WWII veteran who took this souvenir decorated this with some German insignia he picked up. The pin on the front is an emblem from a visor cap.

The top of the case has an aluminum skull emblem that was used on collar tabs of German Army armored vehicle crew members. There are some holes in the front of the case where more of these skull pins were once affixed.

Inside the case is a typewritten label that once had the name and address of the original owner.

This old war souvenir still works and is capable of making fine photos.
