The Kodak Brownie was a revolution in photography and a huge success for Kodak. This No. 2 had a long production run, from 1901 to 1935. Even today, some people think of the name “Brownie” as a generic term for box type cameras.

It is possible to date these Brownie cameras based on details like the shape of the film window and the print color and wording on the film mask. I have some information about that in this post. This version of the Kodak Brownie No. 2 Model C was made between 1907 and 1910.

This camera has some light leaks which is not unusual for a cardboard box that is well over 100 years old. The simple meniscus lens has a dreamy character.
