This is a nicely made camera. It’s a sturdy aluminum box with 3 focus zones.

Agfa introduced its first two box cameras in 1930. The simple version was the Box 54 (“Box 1”), with a fixed focus. This Box 54 (“Box Spezial”) has a lens that moves within the camera to achieve the 3 focus zones.

These early Agfa box cameras were short-lived. The 1932 introduction of the cheap Agfa Box 44 revolutionized the box camera market in Germany.
