This attractive example of the Balda Frontbox came with a handsome original 1930s leather case.

These are very practical and capable cameras, with a two-element Periskop lens and two aperture settings.

This one has an old wooden film spool inside and is complete with the original “D.R.G.M” marked winding key. The insert has some small etched numbers, apparently dates in 1943 and 1944.

I took these photos in Germany and Switzerland in 2022.
